Janet Foutty is an accomplished senior business leader, technologist, author, and frequent public speaker. She spent over 30 years at Deloitte during which she was elected by the partnership to serve as Executive Chair of the Board of Deloitte US (2019-2023). Previously, she served as Chair and CEO of Deloitte Consulting LLP.  
As Chair, Janet focused on critical matters of strategy, risk management, and talent. While focusing on DEI for her clients and Deloitte, she achieved greater diversity of the board itself, including reaching gender parity. While CEO of Deloitte Consulting, Janet led the digital transformation and growth of the business through significant investments in digital, artificial intelligence, and cloud.
Throughout her career at Deloitte, Janet led numerous practices, including technology and government. Janet regularly communicates with executive-level audiences about the changing business landscape, leadership, corporate governance, crisis resiliency, equity, technology disruption, and the importance of creativity in business. She has been published in top-tier business publications including Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review, Forbes, and The Wall Street Journal. And, recognized for her leadership by Fortune, Crain’s, Chicago Magazine, and New York Moves Magazine.
Janet is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion; women in technology; and the need for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education. She founded women in technology groups in India and the United States which have seen continual growth and commitment for over a decade.
Throughout her career, Janet has served on a number of not-for-profit boards. She currently serves as chair of Bright Pink, a nonprofit dedicated to young women’s health; member of the National Semiconductor Technology Center Selection Committee; and board member of The Chicago Network. She also serves on NYU Stern’s Tech advisory council and Indiana University Kelley School of Business Dean’s Council. Janet previously served on the boards of Catalyst, US Council on Competitiveness, YWCA Chicago, and The Millstein Center at Columbia Law School.
Janet holds a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration in finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. She is an inductee of the Kelley School of Business Academy of Alumni Fellows.
Janet is proud to call Chicago, Illinois home where she lives with her husband Kent and rescue dog Casper. They have twin adult children, Nora and Ben.
